Juneteenth - June 18 & 19

GBUAHN participated in the 41st Juneteenth Festival of Buffalo on June 18-19, 2016 to support the continuation of African American heritage in the Buffalo-Niagara Region. Juneteenth is the third largest celebration in the world, preserving and promoting African American heritage through cultural and educational activities.

Downstream Providers Networking Event

GBUAHN’s Downstream Providers Networking Event was held in the Lafayette Lofts on April 21, 2016. Twenty-five GBUAHN downstream providers/accounts participated in the trade-show-style networking event. Five other providers/accounts attended for networking, mixing and mingling with their fellow providers and GBUAHN staff. GBUAHN patient health navigators and community health workers welcomed this opportunity to learn all about the providers to which they refer their members.

Hispanic Day Parade

As the Hispanic community (Mexicans, Dominicans, Cubans, Colombians, and others from the Caribbean, Central American and South American Hispanic countries) continues to grow in the Western New York area, we feel that by enhancing our name, all those groups will feel the pride in raising their flags, and in sharing in their cultural costumes, music and food when participating in a wonderful celebration of Hispanic Heritage.

Groundbreaking Event

After years of planning and preparation, the Greater Buffalo United Accountable Healthcare Network (GBUAHN) held a groundbreaking ceremony on a new $5 million,40,000-square-foot medical building. The event took place on August 3, 2016 at the building’s future location: 7th Street on Buffalo’s Lower West Side. This new location will house GBUACO (Greater Buffalo United Accountable Care Organization) and will act as a community care center for all Medicaid patients.
